THE OBJECTIVE OF THE SITE - PUNJAB TRAUMA
Punjab, a state of the Union of India on the border of Pakistan, has undergone a very violent phase of killings by militants from 1981 onwards. However, the orgy of violence was at its peak between 1986-1993 when more than 20,000 peace- loving Punjab residents were killed by terrorists. The totality of killings and mindlessness in shootouts in trains, railway stations, buses, shopping complexes, parks and other public places were totally stunning and mind boggling.
The sufferings by peace-loving Punjab families have no parallel in history anywhere in the world. Everyday newspapers carried details of pointless and purposeless killings by terrorists. The resultant effects of demoralising, silencing and incapacitating the Punjabis at large is fully achieved, if that was the goal.
We see a lot on the Internet and in magazines regarding sufferings of relations of terrorists and the rights of terrorists themselves. What's astonishing is that more than 25,000 individuals ranging from 6 months old to 80 years old, pointlessly killed by the terrorists do not find any mention and seems to have receded into oblivion. We are making the small efforts to collect photographs and facts of the incidents of Punjab which will be updated periodically with more information about the carnage faced by the Punjabis.
