| It was a cool winter morning on December 30, 1988 at about 8:00 A.M. in village Shriffpura, district Amritsar. Terrorists had planted a bomb in a tin canister hanging on a bicycle. The aim was to kill innocent passersby in the village residential colony. An alert cop spotted the bomb on the bicycle. Showing presence of his mind and an exemplary courage, he tried to pluck the bomb and throw it away just to save the public. However, unfortunately the bomb exploded in his hands, killing him on the spot. Though 11 persons got injuries, the cop saved many others who would have been killed by the dreaded terrorists. |  Dead Body | ||
