| Majitha is among the main terrorist areas. Major terrorists belonged to this territory which is situated near Amritsar. During the month of August, 1988 at around mid-night, a police patrolling party was on its duty on Majitha-Amritsar road. The terrorism was on its peak during these days. The security persons saw a terrorist standing on the road with a bomb in his one hand and an assualt rifle in the other. Before the police party could realise what is going to happen, the terrorist hurled the bomb on the police vehicle, and also started firing on them. One police person was killed on the spot and other two got seriously injured. The terrorist escaped under the cover of darkness. |  Injured policeman
